New step when moving to Launtel
New nbn™ Requirements: We Now Need Your AVC ID When You Sign Up
Hey legends,
Quick update for anyone joining (or moving) their NBN® service over to Launtel.
The Comms Alliance has introduced a new step to protect customer connections from being accidentally churned. In practice, this will mean that all RSP’s will have to collect something called your AVC ID when you sign up.
(Yeah, another three-letter acronym — just what the world needed, right?) – Access Virtual Circuit for those that are interested in these things.
What’s an AVC ID?
Basically, it’s a special code that identifies the exact connection at your address. It’s how NBN® knows which service we’re trying to move across. Without it, we can’t get your order moving — simple as that.
Why is an AVC ID now required?
nbn™ put this step in place to protect connections from being accidentally cut off. This could have happened previously if a RSP had entered a wrong address into the NBN® system with the result being an outage or disconnection of connected services.
Here’s the good news:
We’ve made it super easy — when you go through the online signup, there’s now a little box where you can pop your AVC ID in. Your previous RSP will normally include it in their invoice or customer portal and it may be called ‘Service ID’, ‘Connection ID’ or something similar.
Don’t know what your AVC is?
No stress.
If you can’t find it (or have no idea what we’re even talking about), you can just leave that box blank. One of our awesome crew will reach out and give you a hand.
We’ll usually help you find it on an old invoice from your previous provider — it’s often hiding in the fine print somewhere.
Bottom line: if you have it, chuck it in — it’ll speed everything up.
If you don’t, no worries, we’ll sort it out together.
As always, if you get stuck or have questions, hit us up through chat or give us a buzz.
